You are already familiar with the term Affiliate Marketing and you know that this is a viable business idea.
That’s right, this is a great business model.
But how to make money with affiliate marketing without a website?
Is it even possible?
In essence, you as an affiliate marketer connect people that are selling products/services and potential customers.
So it doesn’t matter where you connect these two subjects (potential customers and vendors).
It could be on Social Media, email, Youtube, or websites, and people get provision even in the offline world.
But let’s focus on the online world, specifically the one without a website.
In the following brief article, we are going to mention a couple of ways how to make money without a website.
Traffic
Please keep in mind that you need people to see your content.
Whether it is on social media or Youtube, you need to have hundreds and even thousands of followers to make this work.
Analogically, website owners need visitors to come to their websites and consume the content. That’s the traffic.
Some of these visitors become customers.
The more visitors you have – the bigger revenue you generate.
This traffic in terms of social media is called followers.
Having followers on social media or a lot of subscribers and views on Youtube is crucial when it comes to making money.
Side Note:
Forget about the products promising Free buyer traffic.
Recently I have reviewed dozens of these products, (mostly on the WarriorPlus site) claiming that you can get free traffic (people ready to buy) without having a website.
And all of that just for $19.
That’s all nonsense.
First thing First
Have you already chosen your niche?
If you are passionate about something (whether tea, fishing, or you have experience with woodworking) you are already one step ahead.
Otherwise, you need to do some research and find out what your niche is going to be.
Related:
The bottom line is that you need a specific audience interested in your niche.
Then you can create social media accounts, join groups, follow people interested in the niche, and eventually, they will follow you back.
Let’s break it down a bit.
Social Media
Social media are free.
You don’t have to pay anything, and yet you can create an account, and post stuff related to your niche.
What is your favorite social media?
I use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (and a little bit of Pinterest).
From my experience, it is not easy to be “up to date” on all of them.
It is just time-consuming, especially for a person like me with a website.
It can happen that friends of yours are not particularly interested in your niche.
And it would feel awkward to bother them with the product/service you want to promote.
That’s why it is better to create a new Facebook profile.
(You might need a Facebook business profile or also called Business Manager).
How to get traction on Facebook?
Go to the search bar and type keywords typical for your niche.
For example:
“Make Money Online Group”:
You see, there are many groups that you can join, and participate in.
In some groups, you have to answer a few questions.
That’s not a big deal.
Also, make sure to follow the rules.
Each group has its rules and in many cases, your post has to be approved by the admin.
Again, if you follow the rules, there is nothing to worry about.
As a rule of thumb, you don’t want to post affiliate links in each group, every 10 minutes.
That’s a No-No.
A much better approach is to observe and react to existing posts.
Engage with others, and provide them with your opinion. You gotta be valuable for that group.
Then eventually you can add the affiliate link and see what happens.
You probably realize that this probably takes some time (weeks and months) and a lot of effort.
That’s right.
But the path to success is never easy.
I am sure you are familiar with Instagram.
This is one of the best social media platforms where you can make money, without having a website.
Honestly, I am not an expert on Instagram, but I wanted to mention this platform.
In principle, you want to do the same as in the Facebook case above.
Make sure to use hashtags related to your niche.
Also ask people to comment on your post. Engage with others… you get my point.
The same principle you want to apply on other Social Media.
Now Let’s talk about YouTube.
It is also social media, but it deserves its own section.
YouTube
You probably already know that YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine (right after Google).
And even though Google owns YouTube, it is considered a separate platform.
BTW, Do you know how much Google paid for Youtube?
Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion, back in 2006.
Youtube is a great way how to get thousands and even millions of views and thus leverage the “traffic” with affiliate marketing.
Again takes some time.
Are you just starting out with Youtube?
Do you have a new channel with very few followers?
Keep in mind a few things:
- Keep creating content, on a regular basis. Let’s say 3 videos per week.
- Have videos that are 8 – 14 minutes long (or even longer)
- Make sure to have unique content
- Youtube SEO
… and let’s break it down.
YouTube SEO
For you as a Youtuber, there is a “back-office” called YouTube Studio.
Here you can upload the videos, enter the keywords related to the video, and basically the entire SEO.
As you see below, you don’t want to forget to fill in the following:
- Title
- Description
- Tags
Also, don’t forget to create and upload your own Thumbnail.
This is very important when it comes to Youtube SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
The thumbnail must be catchy, it must stand out.
But don’t overdo it.
In other words, you don’t want to have click-baits. This is again Policy, and you can be punished for it.
Here are some tips:
- Have a title inside of the thumbnail
- Use contrast colors
- Relevant images
This can be easily done with Canva where you can select a format that is specific for Youtube thumbnails.
Forums
Analogically as with Facebook, type the keyword related to your niche in the search engine with “forum” at the end.
You will find many forums, where you can participate and also learn new things.
Make sure to be active in forums and provide others with value.
Once they recognize you as an authority within your niche, your list of followers grows.
Website
Generally speaking, it is always recommended to have a website.
That is your headquarters.
This post is supposed to answer the question, of whether it is possible to make money without a website.
I get it.
And now you probably want to leave since this is not what you have been looking for.
That would be fair.
You don’t have to create a website right now if you don’t want to.
But sooner or later, you will come to the conclusion that it is probably not a bad idea.
It can be a single one-page website, with some info and a link to your Social media profile (or Youtube).
And vice versa.
And here is one of the reasons, why owning a website is beneficial.
You can have your email address in the following format:
Name.Surname@YourWebsite.com
instead of Gmail or Yahoo.
It looks more professional, don’t you think?
Besides, the best way to become a successful affiliate marketer is to have a website. People with a simple website (or just a blog) make 4 or even more figures per month.
They have learned how to drive free (or organic) traffic to a website that converts well.
But if you are tight on budget, the best way is to start with Social Media.
Focus on 2 or 3, and once you have some revenue, you can invest in hosting and education.
Conclusion
We have covered different ways how to make money with affiliate marketing without having a website.
It is actually possible, and I remember one training with John Crestani.
He was saying that you can make your first dollar online within 2 hours.
And this is what he was teaching:
- Become Amazon Associate
- Grab your affiliate link – for example a book
- Create a post on Facebook where you briefly describe what is this book about and post the affiliate link
- In theory, you can earn a commission within hours
Well, that’s just theory but in the real world, it takes a little bit more.
We have covered what needs to be done before someone clicks on your affiliate link and makes the purchase.
At the end of the day, the effort will be pretty similar to the one with a website.
Whether you have or don’t have a website, you need to have followers or people that read your content.
Without people that follow you, you don’t have any revenue.
If you are just starting out, be prepared that it will take quite some time to build such followers.
But it certainly is possible.
I hope you find this brief article helpful. This is quite a complex topic, so if you have questions don’t hesitate to use the comment section below and ask.
Also if you have already experience with social media and you feel like adding some information feel free to do so.
Since I am not always on my laptop, it may take several hours until your comment is approved.
