Userlytics Overview
Userlytics is a legitimate website where you can make some money by performing some tests on others’ websites. These websites are companies that want to know the feedback in order to improve the user experience.
It is easy to sign up and most importantly it is for free.
The drawback is that there are not enough assignments and even though Userlytics pays quite well, you can’t rely on this site as a consistent income.
If you are looking for ways how to generate consistent income online, check the link below.
Here is a different method showing how to build a website that drives free traffic and how to monetize this traffic.
It is not a get-rich-quick scheme, meaning it took me several months until I got my 1st sale and about a year till I reach 4 figures.

What is Userlytics?
Userlytics is a website where one can earn money by testing websites, online products, and/or apps.
It is free to join so this seems like a great way how to make an extra income and not risk losing money.
The good news is that this is a legit site that actually pays its members.
What is not so good is that the earning potential is really low and that is due to a lack of opportunities.
But let’s get deeper.
Founder of Userlytics
It is always a good sign to see who is behind the site. You have no idea how many scams are out there where the identity of the creators is hidden.
Alejandro Rivas-Micoud is the Founder & CEO of Userlytics.
He is an entrepreneur with international experience and you can watch a very interesting interview with Alejandro where he is talking about his background and how he started.
He founded the Userlytics back in 2009
Who is it for?
This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to make some bucks on the side.
It does not require any special knowledge.
What you really need though is a computer with an internet connection.
I personally prefer to do such work on desktops (or laptops) but Userlytics offers you to do testing on mobiles as well.
Software/Hardware Requirements for Desktop.
- You need a PC with Windows 7 or higher
Or - Mac with OSX 10.13 or higher.
I also must inform you that you need browsers like Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer (or currently called Microsoft Edge), which is not a big deal, right 😉 ?
Also, you need a mic and for some assignments, you need to have a webcam as well.
For Mobile Users:
You need a mobile phone with
- Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher
Or - iPhone with iOS 11 or higher.
And of course a standard browser on your phone, Safari or Chome.
Then a microphone (assuming all of the cell phones have one, right?). For some tests, you need to have a front camera and make sure to download the Userlytics App.
How to Join?
Besides the requirements listed above, Userlytics is free to join.
You must be at least 16 years old though.
But once you are old enough and have the gadgets with the minimum requirements you can go ahead and sign up.
It is pretty easy.
- Enter your email
- Check your Inbox and confirm the link
- After that, you are directed to a page with some basic information about yourself (date of birth, country, gender, etc. )
- Once done you are good to go
I did sign up for the Userlytics, but what I find a bit disadvantageous is that there are recently no active tests. It may something to do with your demographic profile.
You can go and fill out the advanced profile by clicking at the upper right corner where it says “Qualify For More Tests”.
How Does the Userlytics Work?
By now you know that you as a user can make money by testing websites, app, and so on.
Where does the money come from?
Here is the explanation:
On the other side of the platform (so to speak), there are companies that want to know how to improve the user experience on their sites.
Therefore, they are willing to pay for such information to you as a tester, via the Userlytics.
To give you an overview of what such a tester might be doing here is a list you can check and see what specific tasks you may be doing:
- Watch ads and give your feedback about them
- Search for some items on a website
- Give feedback about how you feel about a certain content within the website (how does it look, what would you change, what you love, and so on)
- Comparing 2 competitive websites
- Act as e a buyer on a specific site and perform every step a real buyer would do before actually purchasing the item
- Test a website registration process
Imagine you are at the Airbnb website and you need to come up with feedback. You are given a specific task on how to search for a specific home in a specific location and how to find people’s experiences… and so on.
At the end of the assignment, you may have to go through a query with a bunch of questions, for example:
- How easy the site was to use
- Did you have any issues while logging in
- Do you recommend this site to a friend?
- How do you like the website?
Some of the tests require a microphone. That means you have to speak your thoughts out loud and record them.
There are some companies that want to see your reaction. With that being said you would need to record not only your voice, but you need to record your behavior with a webcam.
In case you are not comfortable with that, you don’t have to perform the task.
Regarding the recordings, Userlytics claims that your data are safe during the process and they can’t be used outside of the Userlytics.
Please note that your review must be approved by the company before you actually get paid.
And how much can you make?
How much it pays?
Finally, we are getting to the most important question – How much can you make?
The earnings depend on the specific task, but to give you an overview, it ranges from $5 to $20 for a task.
Most of them can be done within an hour so that is not bad at all.
But don’t forget about what I do mention above – there are not enough assignments per day for you to perform.
That means that quite often you might see the following screen:
It says:
“Currently, there are no active test invitations that correspond with your demographic profile, we will notify you via email as soon as the next one is available”.
With that being said, don’t count that you can work 30-40 hours per week and make $300 to $400 per week.
Unfortunately, this does not happen and what you should be really counting on is probably a few bucks per month.
Is There a Better Way How To Make Money from Home?
Well, it depends on what you are looking for.
Sure there are many ways how to make a decent income online, but it requires effort on your side and time.
One of the easiest is in my opinion Affiliate Marketing.
Long story short – back in 2017, I did sign up for one educational platform. In 2018 I was procrastinating for about 11 months and then at the beginning of 2019, I finally started to apply what I was learning.
I made my first sale online in April 2019, and by the end of 2019 I was making a steady income (nothing big, but it pays the bills and so on).
My website drives free traffic and this becomes a business that can be scalable.
I am planning to hire a person who will create content for me and I can concentrate on different things.
If you want to have more details, let me know in the comment section below.
I am going to mention a few more things about the Userlytics and we can wrap this up.
What I like about Userlytics
- Userlytics pays decent money (if there is an available assignment)
- Free to join and easy to sign up
What I don’t like about the Userlytics
- Lack of assignments
- Your testing might not be approved by the company and you won’t get paid
Conclusion
Userlytics is definitely a legit platform that pays well if there is an assignment for you available.
But it could happen that there are no jobs for a few days in a row.
Let’s take the best-case scenario and assume that there are enough jobs. You still are getting paid for your time and this kind of business is not scalable.
What do I mean by that?
Well, you might want to check some other ways how to generate a consistent and decent income.
How to do that?
It is easy to answer – Invest in education.
I mean, invest your time. There is much valuable information out there, but in case you prefer having all the valuable information at one place, you may want to check this article as well.
Again with Userlyrics, you only get paid for the time you actually work (if you work).
It is exactly just like the following quote:
“If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.”
Warren Buffet

Hi Mike
This is an interesting review of userlytics and I can see why people will be attracted to it. The lack of assignment is a big concern, as this tells me that they have more employees than work available to them. It does not seem fair if they reject what you have said, as work is work no matter how good or bad it is. It sounds like a cop out to me. I think it is a good way to earn some many but not make a living from it. A bit of pocket money so to speak.
Thanks
Antonio
I agree.
Userlytics can be a good temporary opportunity for someone who wants to make extra “cash” on the side.
I think it is worth trying as there is nothing to lose, but in the long term, this is not the right path.
Thanks for your comment
Mike
